You were tired of your 9–5 job, working hard to make someone else rich. You decided to start your own business only to find yourself working from 5–9 instead. You’ve fallen into the self-employment trap.
Here are the key differences between being self-employed and being a business owner:
How Do You Transition from Self-Employed to Business Owner?
Systemization
Everything within a business must be systematize. From idea creation to client acquisition, product or service delivery, and client retention. Each area needs a clearly defined process. These processes should be simple, not complex. Simplicity makes training easier and execution more consistent.
Once your systems are defined, begin delegating. The training process consists of three steps:
Show them
Do it together
They do it on their own
As a business owner, your role is not to do the work yourself, but to monitor and ensure that others are following the system.
As a general rule, if you systematize your business effectively, it should be able to run without your daily involvement within 12–24 months.
