As entrepreneurs, leaders, or creators, we often wear too many hats. While that’s sometimes necessary in the early stages, it’s not sustainable in the long run. The real magic happens when you focus on what you love and do best. You should outsource or hire others to handle the rest.

But how do you know what to delegate? Start by categorizing your tasks into four buckets:

1. Things I Like Doing and Am Good at

This is your zone of genius. Where passion meets skill. These are the tasks that energize you and drive the most value for your business.

2. Things I’m Good at but Dislike Doing

You can do these well, but they drain your energy or feel like a chore. Over time, they can lead to burnout. Delegate these to someone who enjoys them. Just because you can doesn’t mean you should.

3. Things I’m Not Good at but Like Doing

These are fun or interesting, but you’re not efficient at them. They can be great learning opportunities

Consider outsourcing or collaborating. You can still be involved, but let experts lead.

4. Things I Dislike Doing and Am Not Good at

This is the danger zone. These tasks are frustrating, time consuming, and often done poorly. They sap your time and energy. Delegate or eliminate these immediately. This is where hiring talent makes the biggest impact.

You don’t have to do it all. In fact, you shouldn’t. The most successful people aren’t the busiest. They are the most focused. Hire for freedom and watch your business grow.
